soundpocket, a charitable organization devoted solely to artistic practices in sound, is currently seeking enthusiastic 1) Education Officer and 2) Arts Administrative Intern who have an interest in a career in the arts and education.

The Education Officer (Full-time) for The Library by soundpockcet reports to Executive Director on the organizational level, and the Manager of Curatorial Affairs and Project Manager on the program level.

Chief responsibilities
– Develop and deliver on-campus school workshops and public engagement projects on sound and listening cultures
– Work with artists and designers to produce online learning materials
– Identify potential partners and participants for The Library’s public engagement projects
– Maintain good relationship with schools and project partners
– Conduct evaluation on the effectiveness of school workshops, online learning materials and public engagement projects

Knowledge and Abilities – every bit counts!
– University graduate with at least one year of full-time or part-time cumulative experience in the contemporary art field; practical experience in art education is desirable
– Strong interests in the arts and sense of creativity in programming and audience development
– Excellent written and spoken Chinese and English; fluency in Putonghua an advantage
– Willing to learn and meet new challenges
– Good knowledge of local cultural issues and the ability to engage with them critically

The Arts Administration Intern (Full-time) reports to Executive Director on the organizational level, and the Manager of Curatorial Affairs and Project Manager on the programme level. He/she will be taking up a variety of tasks, ranging from administrative duties like filing and updating website, to working with the project team on the implementation of different projects.

Knowledge and Abilities – every bit counts!
– Hong Kong resident aged 18 or above
– Holder of a university degree, preferably obtained within the last three years
– Strong interest in working professionally in the arts
– Familiar with online social media tools
– Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English; fluency in Putonghua an advantage
– Some relevant work experience is preferred but not required
– Willing to learn and meet new challenges
